The Learning Professionals (LP) provides businesses and participants with choice for their Vocational Education and Training (VET) needs, focusing on practical training that allows the individual to practice and apply their new skills in an industry learning environment. The Learning Professionals is Geelong’s boutique private National Registered Training Organisation (RTO) provider 20665 commitment to excellence in the implementation of training and assessment. We pride ourselves in training the future trainers for industry.

Scope of Training Services

LP has a specialised scope including

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
  • TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development
  • BSB40515 Certificate IV in Business Administration
  • BSB50215 Diploma of Business.

Training Resources and Support Services

LP has highly qualified trainers, assessors and administration staff, to deliver its various programs nationally. We specialise working in partnership with industry to support their organisations training staff to develop their skills and knowledge, thus ensuring business growth in training skills and knowledge is integrated within the business operations. 

LP provides holistic training and assessment programs with formal learning pathways that assist participant and their workplaces, to set their learning goals and desired outcomes.  We promote a range of alternative pathways for learning participants and workplaces, providing reasonable adjustment and contextualisation to meet the workplace as well and the individual learning participants needs.  These alternative pathways include;

  • Delivery of Skill Sets drawn from the training package
  • Industry needed units packaged into an industry skill set
  • Recognition of Prior learning and intensive gap training

Our flexible learning options allows learning participants to learn when, where and how best suits their workplace needs, in partnership with the workplace training teams to ensure realistic training and assessment outcomes that are beneficial to both learning participants and workplace. 

To achieve this, LP recognised a participant’s informal learning, which is probably the most common form of professional development, but often goes unrecognised and is generally not measured.  Our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process involves taking advantage of the professional development opportunities within the workplace, allowing participant to have this learning recognised via flexible assessment methods, utilising workplace evidence that meets qualification requirements and providing training to meet the “Gaps” in skills and knowledge as required. 

Our learning participants are able to practices a variety of learning approaches in their workplace, customised to meet their professional development needs, completing practical assessments in the workplace to ensure that the outcomes sought are achieved and the professional development initiatives have been successful for the workplace.

Value Adding Working with Industry

We acknowledge that there may be current employees that are highly skilled in the company work practices that with some formal training themselves could be developed as industry trainers and assessors enabling the workplace to continue the initial training in partnership with LP to develop individual Learning Plans that will recognise their staffs’ current skills and knowledge and provide training to fill their capability deficiencies with suggested strategies to meet the needs of the business best practice and the employees learning characteristics,  providing gap training in the workplace as agreed upon by both parties.

RTO Capability and Resources

Our team has the broad capability to provide TNA, to develop training pathways and materials for programs that are flexible and contextualised to meet your workforce priorities. We record evidence of training and workplace evidence for assessment that is filed electronically or in hardcopy, systematically ensuring privacy and record management requirements for contractual requirements.

RTO Trainer and Assessor Qualification Requirements

May train and assess National Qualifications for an RTO

  • TAE40116 or TAE40110 plus TAELLN411 and TAEASS502/502A/502B or
  • Diploma (TAE50116, or higher qualification in adult education)

Assessor Only Qualification Requirements

May Assess only National Qualifications for an RTO

  • TAESS00001 Assessor Skill Set plus TAEASS502/502A/502B or 
  • TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set

Individuals Working Under the Dupervision of a Trainer

Where the RTO, in delivering training and assessment, engages an individual who is not a trainer or assessor, the individual works under the supervision of a trainer and does not determine assessment outcomes. The RTO ensures that any individual working under the supervision of a trainer (only) under Clause 1.17: a) holds the training and assessment credential specified in Item 6 of Schedule 1 (they cannot make an assessment decision and must be under supervision to conduct training for an RTO)
